Coming this Fall: CTE Aligned Curriculum Exclusively for Spirit Box Teams!

Over the years, we have talked to many schools about Spirit Box, brainstormed on how we could better serve them, and how we can become more accessible to schools. A consistent answer we hear is “we need  a curriculum paired with the Spirit Box that meets national standards”.

We have flushed this idea out quite a bit, talking to many different advisors on what would help their team or other schools. With the help of our amazing advisors we are finally excited to announce that this project is moving, and development of a CTE Aligned Curriculum is underway!

Bringing in the Big Guns!

We are also very excited to introduce Rochelle McMillon, an educator, Spirit Box advisor, marketing and entrepreneurship expert. Spirit Box will be partnering with Rochelle in developing a comprehensive Spirit Box curriculum for teachers to bring to their classroom. Through this collaboration in the coming year, we hope to expand the Spirit Box product mix to include a comprehensive learning program for students and teachers that increases and continually drives value to teams. We want to make Spirit Box more accessible for all schools.

With Rochelle’s passion for helping educators and students as well as her breadth of experience, we know she is going to do amazing things for this program. Rochelle McMillon is on a mission to prepare the next generation of business leaders. McMillon received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in Entrepreneurial Studies from the Hawaii Pacific University; and graduated from Devry University/ Keller Graduate School of Management with a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing. With over ten years of experience as a business owner, she brings her extensive expertise in business development, curriculum writing, marketing and entrepreneurship to the classroom.

About the Curriculum

This curriculum will be a comprehensive learning program and framework for teachers to use in their classroom to pair with their Spirit Box. This program will align with the Common Career Technical Core Career Ready Practices. This will align with the following career clusters: Business Management and Administration (BM), Finance (FN) and Marketing (MK).

The comprehensive learning program will be a written curriculum including the following:

  • A compilation of learning modules

  • A semester project-based learning program

  • A full-year project-based learning program

  • 12-month current event/ case study assignments

  • Training webinars

  • Certification & competition preparation

The written curriculum will include the instructional materials to implement the curriculum and assess student mastery. It will integrate career and technical student organizations competition preparation and certification preparation. Our goal behind this? We want to bring teachers and advisors more value by providing them with even more resources to help prepare their students for entrepreneurship and the real world.

Your Voice Matters!

In the coming days we will be reaching out and asking for input from current advisors through the assembly of focus groups and an advisory board. Rochelle and our team will depend heavily on input and participation from current Spirit Box advisors and student managers. They are on the Spirit Box front lines every day and will provide invaluable insights on how we design this new program. We want input on educational gaps as well as hopefully learn from the  lessons that have already been created by advisers.

Questions or input on this new curriculum?

Do you have any questions or input for us? If you are a student or teacher that wants to share your input on this upcoming project, please reach out to us at info@spiritboxnation.com. This project is going to take a lot of teamwork and any insights or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
